2018 AGM Information will be available nearer the time and will include joining instructions, the agenda and a review of the year and future plans.
The FAA Squadron is mindful of the need to keep high standards of airmanship and safety.? This is the reason why we insist on full CAA documentation and licensing for both aircraft and pilots and encourage all the squadron members to attend regular training sessions to keep their skills up to date.
Training & Standards
The Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) organises an annual programme of Standardisation and Training each year and we encourage as many members to attend as possible.? Details of dates can be seen in the Events Listing and if you require any further information then please contact the CFI directly.
Support for Gliding Awards
The Squadron sends a flight of four aircraft under a Flight Commander to support the FAAOA sponsored Gliding Award Courses for young people at Lee-on-Solent, Yeovilton and Culdrose.? In addition, 2 students are nominated and sponsored from Squadron funds each year.? Squadron members give their time and aircraft on a voluntary basis free of charge.? Squadron members who can assist by taking students up in their own aircraft for a powered aircraft familiarisation and navigation exercise would be much appreciated and will be provided with fuel to cover those flights.? Powered flying support will take place on 1 or 2 days of each course.
